I think this is essential viewing to help us think again. The effects of trying to be invulnerable, perfect and 'busy numb' can control our lives. We believe that a state of tension is the norm because something is about to happen. Worst still we even view a good thing -joy, has a potential backlash of pain. Email to me is one example of now an almost chemical need to 'keep looking' - watch how its happening around your meeting table. Is it a need to be 'in control' be invulnerable?
As an example - The media tells us of disasters all the time. Films and TV project every normal part of our days have demons. ( I particularly don't like the 'how to get through' adverts on NZ TV - I know its a public service but the actual value I think is low, and the result is to tell me to prepare for a wipe out which is going to happen! - thats good for everyday life eh?. ) So I can live with the conversation going on of 'disaster' - creating fear, making me want to numb, making me want to escape.
